By Jamie Legaspi; Second Year Project Manager
From March 13 to March 15, AIMRx hosted its first March Madness event. The week started off with a mindful coloring and crafts event held in PHS where pharmacy students were able to make their own slime and color different pages with one another in a stress-free environment. AIMRx also provided infused water for those who attended to keep the participants refreshed and relaxed.
For the second event, AIMRx hosted Dr. Dat On, a local acupuncturist at Serendipity Integrative Health Clinic. Dr. On spoke about the practice of acupuncture and other alternative medicine. This was a great way for students to learn more about some of the other alternatives to pharmacologic therapy from a licensed acupuncturist!
The sun was shining brightly for our last event, a dodgeball tournament, which was held on the PHS lawn. Five teams of 1st and 2nd years competed for the chance to win the ultimate goal of winning the first AIMRx dodgeball tournament. The tournament was played in a “bracket” style, with the winner of each round moving on to the next until there were only 2 teams remaining. The championship game was an intense one, with the winning team taking home $10 Jamba Juice gift cards. Congratulations, Cox Blockers!
AIMRx would like to thank everyone who came out to support our first March Madness event! We hope the students enjoyed the various activities we provided and learned a thing or two about acupuncture and its benefits. Hope to see you next year!
